Joel Daniel,

Looking forward to this new version.. Have been running with 1.82 and all goes well..
However, trying to download to Windows XP, both 2.0 and 2.1 only download about 650k and therefore unable to run the setup..
Any thoughts??? or is there a problem with the setup prog..
Many thanks Bob Harper

Hi Bob,
the file size is more than 2 MB - and if you only got 650 K, then - yes, the setup could not run...

So, you should download the whole package...

Version 2.0 you also could download at joel's old homepage: memnbres.lycos.fr/catrain

Kind Regards,
Daniel

Thanks daniel,
The download seems to drop out after about 2 minutes.. I see in Google that there are default download timeouts which could affect this.. As i am only using a dialup connection the download for 2 meg could take about 6-8 minutes...
regards Bob

Hello Bob,

I have also encountered this problem in the past when I was trying to download big files when I was still connected through a 56K modem. It is caused by the time-outs on the server which are too short.
I solved the problem by using a download accelerator.
With such a tool an interrupted download session can be restarted from the break point as many time as necessary until you get the whole file.
There are several freeware and shareware available on the web for this purpose.

I will soon update my web page on "membres.lycos.fr/catrain";
with CATrain2.1. It will be done before the end of the week. You can try to download the package from this server...

Kind regards,

Joel

Daniel, I have downloaded CATrain 2.0 OK. Now I have tried several times to Download CATrain 2.1 and receive an error and STOP at about 25% complete. Any Ideas. Don, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I have tried all of the suggestions but all have failed. The place I'm trying to downlosd from does not support resume feature. Anything else to try?

Hello Don,

I have updated the Web page on Multimania with the new CATrain 2.1 package.
Maybe you can try to dowload it from this address:

"membres.lycos.fr/catrain/readenglish.htm";.

There you will find a link to download "membres.lycos.fr/catrain/CATrain2.1_Setup.exe"; or
"membres.lycos.fr/catrain/CATrain2.1_Setup.zip"; which is the same file but "zipped".

Daniel/Joel

Thanks for your help. I was able to download CATrain 2.1 from Joel's site. The Download had 1 stopped and 1 error during the session. I was however, able to resume the download successfully. I have successfully downloaded many files using "dialup", (What a pain). I seem to do better using the "ZIP" format but, "EXE" downloads work too.

A special Thank You to Bob Harper for his helpful e-mail.
