Hallo everyone,

I hear and read a lot of people who have problems with the USB module conecion with Windows XP.
I work now a couple of monts with the Catrain 2.2 version but never have had problems with the USB module. I have 16 modules runing on a half USB module witha force 4 and the system has never been so secure and fast with it before. So i think there must be somme problem by the instalation os the USB port in Windows XP. I self are running over COM port 5.
So if somebody have problems with this item you always can ask and maybe i have the right solution for you.

Hello Keimp

Up to now, I did'nt get any negative feed-back about the last release of the beta version of CATrain 2.2. It seems that the detection of the USB board works well.
There is still a known problem that cannot be fixed: when the virtual serial port number chosen by "USBSER.SYS" is above COM9, neither Modparam.exe nor CaTrain.exe could detect it.
It seems to be caused by the development environment which does not cope with COM10 and above...
Anyway, this problem can easily be fixed by the user himself. He can use the hardware configuration manager to erase the unused virtual ports before installing CATrain, and/or he can force a virtual serial port number lower than COM10.
Except this little problem, which is very unlikely to happen, the last beta version of CATrain 2.2 seems very stable.
As soon as the German help file is ready, CATrain 2.2 will be officially released.
Thank you for your testing effort and for your reports, :cheer:
