This is the First time i have taken a good look at this system,
love the program, just never thought about "HOW TO" link it to a layout.
still got BIG QUESTIONS, like are modules prebuilt for sale? or are these KITS?
and if kits, will my local RADIO SHACK have the parts i'll need to build them?

if this idea work the way i think it will, it's the system i have been looking for for years.

plan on a very small n-scale layout,4'x5' lossely based on the G&D design.

would like signals, lights, soundsn all controlled from computer.
also i started a model train club here in kansas, boy i had no idea what i was starting. 28 members in 2years and no more room for trains.

Hello,

I can only provide the programmed processors and the virgin printed circuit boards for CATrain modules. The circuit boards are dual side with plated holes. The component placing is indicated on the component side. They are easy to assemble. Other components are standard, easy to find in shops or on the web.
If you prefer pre-built modules, I know that Fran?ois Gilquin (Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser.) has already built modules for some users. He works extremely well, but I do not know if he has enough time now for still assembling modules?
Printed circuits and processors are available for the 4 modules:
- PWM modules
- Device controllers
- Train Detectors (optional)
- The new USB interface for CATrain 2.0 on Windows XP.
CATrain 2.0 and its USB interface are still in beta test by several users.
It will be announced officially before the end of the month.
Several people use CATrain with "N" scale. This works well. The tuning for adjusting the loco "speed curve" is a little more difficult than with HO scale because the little motors are less "constant", especially when they are cold, but this is not a problem, since CATrain controls all the signals (and the switches) and detects the presence of the trains on each block by their power consumption.
You can control each train from the PC transparently, since CATrain "knows on which electrical block(s) the train is located.
The sound is not yet available, but we intend to implement it in a near future.

Kind regards,

Jo

Halo,

I am "playing" for 5 years now with Catrain, and i can tell you that it will work even better as you think.
I have a N model railroad 4 X 3 square meters.
The most beautiful of it is to build your own circuit boards.
All the materials you can buy by your local Radio Shack or he can order them for you.
The printed boards and micro processors you can order by Mr Joel, just as i did.
If you will start with this system it will be a never ending story.
If you need more information, it doesn't matter what, you can mail me and i will answer all your questions. The more and longer you are busy with Catrain the better you understand the system.

Kind regards,
Keimpe

Hello,
I also interresting by this software and I would like to know if you can send to me the schematic and pcb layout in Pdf format for all modules. In the same way, the code for the microprocessors?
My email is indicated above.

Thanks by advance

Bonjour Lionel,

Apr?s avoir t?l?charg?
