That "sounds" interesting

How is that supposed to work ?
On the screen, how would you select your position/bearing/range of hearing ?
On a model, how many little speakers will be supported ?
How many soundfiles can a train or station have, how to select which one to play ?

The sounds are only produced by the PC Audio card.
The "localization" is limited to the positioning between the left and right channels.
Audio effects can be attached to the trains (idling, running, braking) but also to the level-crossings and to polyvalent "horn" elements that could also be used for other sounds like station announcements.
This version (CATrain 2.4) is in its final testing phase and it will be released in July or August.
