Hello,
congratulations for your software that gives me a lot of fun, it contains all functions that I need from a train controller,
I am unfortunately unable to build and program the hadware,

I have found on the net that the first version was able to run with the intellibox, could this happen again in the furure?

This could be really usefull

Best regards
Eric

Hello,

yes, the 16 bit version was compatible with the Märklin Digital system (in fact it had been developed for this system), and also with the Intellibox working in Motorola/Märklin compatibility mode.
But, at that time (1994), PCs were still able to perform real time tasks through the serial communication port. The Marklin 8051 interface was connected to this port. New PCs have no more serial port, and even adding an USB to RS232 converter does not work with the 32 bit Windows XP or Windows 7 and even less with the 64 bit platforms! (they are not \"reactive\" enough, and they lose events).
To use a genuine USB solution, some external \"intelligent\" hardware is needed, together with a dedicated software driver running on the PC. The \"USB interface board\" has been developed for this purpose, to drive CATrain modules. But nothing has been done to cope with Märklin and Intellibox. I don\'t know if the Intellibox is now available with an USB interface (I suppose \"yes\"!) and also if the technical documentation gives enough details for somebody to develop a Driver/DLL for CATrain... Things are still opened to goodwill!

Thank you Joel for your prompt answer,
yes the new IB#2 has a USB port build-in,
I hope someone in the future will develop a Driver for it

Best regards
